Verney-Carron can take pride in being the oldest French hunting weapons manufacturer. The company was established in 1820 by Claude Verney but its origins go back to 1650 date when Guy Verney won a gunsmith competition in the city of St-Etienne, which has since become the capital of the French weapon. In 1830, Claude Verney married Antoinette Carron from a family of gunsmiths. Thus, the Verney-Carron brand was born. With its 86 employees and specialised in the manufacture of hunting rifles and shotguns, the company is composed of 4 major internal divisions: the manufacture, the workshop, security, and defence.
