The Curado DC is a technically advanced low-profile casting reel, equipped with Shimano's exclusive Digital Control braking system (i-DC4) to automatically control the spool rotation speed while casting.
The Curado benefits from digital control, which uses a microcomputer to control the spool rotation speed during your cast. And when you're fishing, you'll appreciate the Curado DC's sturdiness and the comfort of its grip. Available in a standard size 150 and in a larger size 200, with different recovery speed options, the Curado DC is one of the best investments you can make if you're looking to move up to the latest reel casting technology.
If you've never experienced Shimano's Digital Control technology, you really should. Easily adjustable via an external knob, you can set the reel in completely free mode or on one of three different settings - 1 for braid or mono, 2 for fluoro and 3 for more challenging cast situations, such as in a strong wind. Once set, the microcomputer makes nano-second order adjustments to the spool speed during the cast, thus avoiding play, maximizing casting performance and allowing you to focus on your fishing with more pleasure. But the Curado DC is not just about its digital control.
The Hagane body is lightweight, rock solid, and naturally fits your hand. The combination of the Micro Module gear and the X-Ship provides the smoothness and power you feel when you use the reel, and the Cross Carbon brake allows you to maintain control over the hard-fighting fish. Finally, the S3D spool allows the digital control to operate at maximum efficiency by reducing spool oscillation during rotation.
