Part of the Magnumlite series, the Sustain combines supreme sensitivity and smooth operation, with the strength necessary to overcome the most demanding situations. Sleek, streamlined and undeniably superb, the Sustain also matches perfectly with the rods of the same name. When it comes to turning heads, the Sustain falls within the line of the best reels. The satin black body with chrome accents is fantastic, but the true beauty of this reel lies in its sensations and performances. You will immediately notice that it is remarkably light in your hand and that the rotation defies almost all logic, a tiny pressure being necessary to put the reel into action. The smaller sizes are perfect for sensitive finesse type setups, while the larger 4000 and 5000 sizes offer the necessary power to conquer the most difficult freshwater and coastal saltwater species. The secret of the Sustain's light rotation is the Magnumlite (MGL) rotor. Built from Shimano's ultra light Ci4+ composite and perfectly balanced, it provides a light start rotation, faster hook sets and increased sensitivity. Inside the sturdy aluminum body is a combination of HAGANE, MicroModule II, X-SHIP and Silent Drive gears ensuring the best winding performance, with smoothness to enhance your experience and fishing enjoyment. And when you hook a powerful fish, you can be sure the Cross Carbon brake will give you the power and confidence you expect from a Shimano reel. X-Protect technology makes the Sustain safe in saltwater and for long distance casting, the Long Stoke spool design and AR-C spool provide the indispensable extra meters.
