Swimming fish, often referred to by many people as Rapala due to the longevity of the Finnish brand, are hard lures that are especially appreciated by trout fishermen. This fishing technique is similar to spin fishing but with some subtleties. Indeed, depending on the swimming fish used, it is possible to explore different water layers and apply various animations. If opting for a floating model, it is possible to let the lure drift with the current to the desired spot before starting to reel in. It is also possible to pause so that the lure rises a few centimetres, thus enticing the trout to attack. The suspending swimming fish is perfect for prospecting between two waters as it sinks before stabilising at a certain depth. This means you can persist in a specific water layer and decide the fish active in the water vein. This type of lure triggers a large number of attacks during pauses made in the reeling in, as this mimics a stationary fry. The sinking PN is also a good ally for deeper fishing and to flush out trout that stay near the bottom. It is also very effective during quick retrievals punctuated by rod shaking, which dislodges the lure to mimic a fleeing injured prey. These imitations, often very realistic thanks to their mimicry and varying swimming movements according to the models, know how to deceive the wariness of the trout that populate our waters. We recommend choosing swimming fish ranging from 3 to 7cm depending on the size of the fry that the trout focus on. Depending on the rivers, size and weight of the lure should be adapted to fish optimally and to offer predators prey in line with their daily diet. In this section you will find the trout swimming fish that best suits your practice and the type of watercourse you are fishing. Among the biggest brands such as Duo, Illex or Rapala.
