The SLX DC XT is the flagship model of the extremely popular SLX series. Featuring Shimano's most advanced i-DC5 Intelligent Digital Control braking system and a low-inertia MGL III spool, it maximizes casting performance for all lure sizes, including ultra-light sizes.
If you want to benefit from the unique performance of a casting reel, combined with the ease of casting and versatility of a spinning reel, the SLX DC XT should be at the top of your list. Perfectly capable of casting a wide variety of lures, this technical masterpiece has hidden versatility and comes into its own with lighter lures; it allows accurate and effortless casting that rivals BFS (Bait Finesse System) specialized reels.
The combination of the low-inertia MGL III spool and i-DC5 digital casting control is at the heart of this remarkable versatility. The spool is ultra-light, and when loaded with lighter braid or mono, it rotates with silky smooth and easy to maximize the distance. But the real secret lies in the exclusive i-DC5 system. This allows you to adjust the brake according to the type of line you are using and also the size of the lure, from larger lures to finesse lures (without additional friction), providing fantastic automatic control.
Inside the aluminum HAGANE body (with ultra-light CI4+ side plates), is a combination of Micro Module Gear and X-SHIP. This produces the incomparable smoothness associated with Shimano Baitcasting reels and enough power to tackle the largest freshwater predators. The easy-to-adjust star brake is equipped with Cross Carbon brake washers, which allows you to never lose control when it comes to applying extra pressure.From ultra-light lures to swimbaits and medium-sized crankbaits, the SLX DC XT is a true versatile tool for serious predator anglers.
