The must-have Saltiga evolves and brings together the latest Daiwa technologies for heavy-duty fishing. To meet the needs of all fishermen, a new size system is applied to the Saltiga 2020 as well as two types of handles offered.
Improved durability The frame of the Saltiga 2020 benefits from the latest Daiwa innovations: its Monocoque Body structure in a unique symmetrical machined piece gives the reel greater robustness. Entirely built in aluminum, the frame's solidity is increased. The control wheel encapsulated in the frame is wider (46mm) and thicker (8.7mm) than the previous version of Saltiga (2015) while being lighter thanks to its G1 dura-aluminium composition. To limit erosion, the reel is painted with 5 superimposed layers: anodization, anti-static paint, primer, paint, and varnish. The aluminium Air Rotor is more rigid than the ZAION carbon and more powerful thus the pick-up arm is more resistant. On either side of the control wheel, two MagSealed bearings ensure Saltiga's smoothness and tightness. We find the Mag Oil at the pinion and pick-up roller level.
For heavy-duty fishing with peace of mind The ATD (Automatic Tournament Drag) braking system now consists of 14 elements against 6 for the Saltiga 2015, which makes Saltiga 2020 ten times more powerful and enduring than its predecessor. The brake button has also been redesigned: it gains in ergonomics thanks to its 42% enlargement. Like the button cap and the brake collar (two internal components), the brake button is made of aluminium. This allows transfer and heat dissipation that guarantees Saltiga's fluidity and efficiency. To precisely adjust the brake, the ratchet sound has been intensified. Ideal for sports fishing, the round or oval shaped aluminium handle provides a powerful and comfortable grip. Always aiming to maximize the pleasure of fishing, the Saltiga 2020 is equipped with an LC-ABS (Long Cast) spool which ensures smooth line output and reduced risk of tangles. Another practical detail of the Saltiga 2020 is located in the pick-up, whose opening and closing are controlled by a ratchet that prevents the rotor from spinning at full throw.
A new size scale For the sake of consistency with small size spinning reels, the Saltiga 2020 range adopts a new size chart: from 8000 (corresponding to the size 4500 of Saltiga 2015) to 20,000 (formerly size 8000).
With this new range, Saltiga pushes performance limits further thanks to the high technologies it is equipped with. Fishermen have to hold it in their hands and break their record.
