the indispensable saltiga evolves and brings together the latest daiwa technologies for heavy fishing. to meet the needs of all anglers, a new sizing system is applied to the saltiga 2020 as well as two types of handles offered.

an improved lifespan
the body of the saltiga 2020 benefits from daiwa's latest innovations: its one-piece symmetric machined monocoque body gives the reel greater robustness. completely constructed in aluminium, the strength of the frame is increased. the drive gear encapsulated in the body is wider (46mm) and thicker (8,7mm) than the previous version of the saltiga (2015) while being lighter thanks to its composition in dura-aluminium g1. to limit erosion, the reel is painted with 5 superimposed layers: anodization, anti-static paint, primer, paint and varnish. the air rotor in aluminium is stiffer than zaion carbon and more powerful thus the arm of the pick-up is more resistant. on either side of the drive gear, two magsealed bearings ensure smoothness and watertightness for the saltiga. mag oil is found at the pinion and the pick-up roller.

for heavy fishing with complete peace of mind
the atd (automatic tournament drag) braking system now consists of 14 elements versus 6 for the saltiga 2015, which makes the saltiga 2020 ten times more powerful and enduring than its predecessor. the drag knob has also been redesigned: it gains ergonomics thanks to its 42% widening. like the button cap and the drag collar (two internal components), the drag knob is made of aluminium. this allows heat transfer and dissipation which guarantees the smoothness and efficiency of the saltiga. to adjust the drag with precision, the sound of the clicker has been intensified. ideal for taking on sport fish, the aluminium handle in round or oval shape offers a powerful and comfortable grip. still with the goal of maximizing fishing pleasure, the saltiga 2020 is equipped with an lc-abs (long cast) spool which ensures a smooth line release as well as a reduction in the risk of backlashes. another practical detail of the saltiga 2020 is housed in the pick-up whose opening and closing are controlled by a clicker that prevents the rotor from turning during a full cast.

a new size scale
for consistency with small-size spinning reels, the saltiga 2020 range adopts a new size scale: from 8000 (corresponding to size 4500 of the saltiga 2015) to 20 000 (formerly size 8000).

with this new range, the saltiga pushes performance limits further thanks to the high technologies that equip it. anglers only have to take it in hand and beat their record.
