The large loop allows to use Preston probes very easily, even with a hook equipped with hair and/or pellet elastic, as for the throat, it allows to keep your nylon perfectly in place and the probe to present itself upright on the bottom at all times. The probes also have a foam base which allows you to prick your hook while protecting the point.
