The HEXIUM FULL FLEX rods will make an impression in the world of nymph fishing. We started from a blank sheet without trying to copy either a fly rod or a natural bait rod. Nymph rods need to have very specific characteristics linked to the technique and lures used. This technique requires being able to delicately, accurately and quickly cast small artificial nymphs, at closer or further distances. The low mass of these nymphs requires a top part of the rod that is flexible and responsive for propulsion and a necessary gentleness to avoid breaking when hooking. Conversely, the bottom part of the rod needs to be more nervous with some power reserve, this to be able to quickly control a fish while avoiding unhooking. These specific characteristics are the origin of these unique rods and perfectly in line with this type of practice.
The 2 versions specifically dedicated to nymph fishing are equipped with a fixed reel holder located at the bottom of the handle, while the 3m90 versions designed for nymph and light fishing have a classic handle with our sliding reel holder. The cork used on these rods is first choice from Portuguese cork oaks, its density and the great care taken in machining guarantee intensive use without risk. The rings used are also quite particular, they have very detached frames preventing the thread from sticking too much to the blank, but especially metal-coated inserts, this material significantly lightens the rings and therefore the rod, without taking anything away in terms of strength or durability. We have only kept the tip ring with a classic micro-ceramic because the working angles and contact surfaces between the insert and the thread are quite important and the heat produced is better dissipated by this material. This HEXIUM FULL FLEX series has very specific actions grouped under 2 names "UL" for lure weights between 0.3 and 5g and "LL" for weights between 0.5 and 8g.
