In the predator lures, the spoons are less fashionable and yet remain very effective, especially the rotating spoons used for decades with still many pikes caught each year. The operating principle of a rotating spoon is simple, when reeling, the water resistance makes the blade spin around the metal axis, and this movement entices predatory fish to attack. The blades will inevitably create resistance, and for the larger sizes, an oversized reel and a flexible rod will provide a more comfortable use. Note also that the wider the blades, the more the spoon will resist the reel, on the other hand, a "willow leaf" thin blade will perform much better at high speeds or in currents. The main colors are gold and silver, with different decorations, for example, red dots. The most well-known spoon brands are obviously Mepps with its iconic Aglia, the Blue Fox Vibrax or even the Suissex predominantly.
