One can go fishing with "outdoor" brand shoes, but fishing brands have recently made real fishing shoes that can offer comfort, grip and foot protection to fishermen during their activities. Contrary to wading shoes, which are designed to be used in water, "classic" fishing shoes are adapted to fishing from the shore, on a boat or even for active fishing where you really need to walk. The most recognised among the fishing brands are Fox carp shoes, Nash shoes and Savage gear shoes.

The soles of these shoes are often designed to offer maximum grip on various surfaces, including wet rocks, docks and boat decks. Some are lightweight, breathable and offer good support to ensure optimal comfort during long summer fishing days. Finally, they protect the feet from debris, sharp shells, and offer a barrier against water splashes. Otherwise for wet conditions a waterproof membrane like gore tex will be essential to keep your feet dry. However, to stay all day in wet grass or to put your foot in water, consider fishing boots which will be more suitable when you have to choose between fishing shoes and boots.
