Le S-Shiner se distingue des hard swimbaits classiques, à bavette, par sa nage glissée (glide) et slalomée, de type “S-Action”, obtenue en récupération continue. Très réaliste, elle vient provoquer l’instinct de territorialité des carnassiers qui ne peuvent résister longtemps à un tel affront. L’attaque est souvent très brutale ! Avec une silhouette allongée assez réaliste et animé canne haute, le S-Shiner se promène en surface et jusqu'à 1 m de fond et trace un sillage facilement repérable. Quand on connaît le penchant qu’ont les carnassiers envers des proies évoluant près de la surface, il y a peu de chances qu’ils ne le laissent passer pacifiquement ! En pêchant canne basse ou en abaissant le scion jusqu’à toucher l’eau, il coule à 5s/m puis évolue entre 50 centimètres et 1 mètre de profondeur pour décider des poissons un peu moins actifs. Son articulation à double charnière lui donne une nage serrée en récupération linéaire mais, il est facile de lui imprimer un walking the dog et des écarts latéraux en le twitchant plus ou moins vivement entre deux eaux.
