With the increased use of Lithium batteries (LiFePo4) for onboard service systems, compatibility between different types of batteries has become a major issue. Indeed, the coexistence between starter batteries, often lead, and Lithium service batteries requires specific management of energy flows, particularly during alternator operation. The RCB+ relay from CRISTEC addresses this issue by providing an effective and secure connection between these two types of batteries.

This device is able to manage the current coming from the alternator by limiting it to the service battery, while prioritizing the charging of the starter battery.

The user can adjust this limit between 50 and 120A (depending on the model), thus ensuring flexibility according to the system's needs. This fine control helps preserve the alternator while optimizing battery charging.

USAGE ADVICE :
It is recommended to reserve about 30% of the alternator's capacity for the starter battery. For example, for a 110 Ah alternator, the limit can be set to 70A for the service. This type of setting ensures that the alternator is not overloaded, thereby increasing its lifespan.
