The W10 Coastal braid has been developed for sea trout and sea fish anglers in search of the ultimate braided line. Our innovative construction produces a line that combines maximum strength and abrasion resistance with a super smooth surface.
Built from superior quality Japanese ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMPE) fibres, it utilises a 13X (12+1) design with 12 supports woven around a central CORE support to produce an extremely round line with improved resistance compared to 8X braided lines.
The W10 Coastal braid uses an "Advanced Ultra High PIC" construction with 56 weaves per inch for a smoother surface and increased abrasion resistance. In addition, the tighter weave of the "Advanced Ultra High PIC" provides the smoothest surface possible for longer and more precise casts.
Sea trout and saltwater anglers demand a stiffer line to avoid wind knots caused by repeated casting in often violent coastal winds. To achieve this, the W10 Coastal is equipped with a double Dura-Coating coating that gives it greater rigidity. The Dura-Coating gel process gives the braid a smoother and hydrophobic surface, reducing water absorption and decreasing friction.
In order to achieve maximum colour stability, the W10 Coastal is dipped in dye tanks before being oven treated to "bake" the pigment and finally sealed with a double gel-coat for improved longevity.
