At the heart of the MAGLEV is an ultra-long 45 mm spool designed to optimize line lay and deliver outstanding long-distance performance. Combined with the Slow O.S.C. oscillation, which produces perfectly spaced winding coils, it guarantees impeccable line lay, improved casting efficiency and consistent accuracy, cast after cast.

Power and precision of engineering
Designed without compromise, the MAGLEV features an ultra-light and incredibly strong magnesium body paired with a state-of-the-art forged carbon rotor for exceptional rigidity and balance under load. Inside, a precision CNC-machined brass and aluminium gear ensures unmatched smoothness, strength and durability. A worm-drive gearing system and stainless steel main shaft guarantee perfect alignment and reliable performance, while 11 + 1 stainless steel shielded ball bearings provide exceptionally smooth rotation and effortless control, even under extreme pressure.

Advanced line management
The floating IntraSpool line guide represents a major advance in line control. By eliminating the traditional gap beneath the spool and maintaining a constant spacing regardless of spool height, it greatly reduces the risk of the line slipping behind the spool while allowing precise line-lay adjustment.

Two captive spring-loaded line clips provide secure, line-friendly control for repeated long-distance casts, while the oversized anti-twist ceramic line roller ensures smooth, controlled line retrieval every time. Total control when it matters most

The Advanced Cross Carbon Quick-Torque drag system offers fast and precise adjustment with an impressive braking power of 18kg, giving you absolute confidence against the most fighting fish. The instant anti-reverse and micro-adjust drag shims allow precise and optimal tuning of performance.

A first for Sonik: the MAGLEV is also equipped with an integrated lubrication system, making maintenance easier and ensuring lasting smoothness. Supplied with lubricating oil, this reel is designed for uncompromising performance, session after session.

Despite its robustness, the MAGLEV remains surprisingly light: the 14000 model weighs just 556 g and the 18000, 566 g. Its satin black anodised CNC aluminium handle, with its classic wooden knob, offers a secure and refined grip, while the one-piece HollowCurve pick-up provides maximum rigidity and smooth line flow. With a ratio of 4.8:1, the MAGLEV retrieves up to 1.17 m per handle turn (14000) and 1.27 m per handle turn (18000), combining speed, control and effortless power.
