The Curado BFS (Bait Finesse System) is designed for light finesse fishing and uses FTB (Finesse Tune Brake) technology and an ultra-light, shallow spool engineered to cast light lures more effectively than traditional low-profile models.
If you've tried fishing with very small lures on a conventional reel, you'll understand the limitations. Often the reel is simply not sensitive enough to cast lures of 5g and under effectively; that's where the Curado BFS comes into play. If light fishing is your passion and you prefer the direct feel of using a baitcasting reel, the Curado BFS will suit you perfectly. Ideal for targeting trout, perch, or even fooling wary fish that ignore larger lures, the light approach has many advantages and with the Curado BFS you have the perfect reel to maximize your success.
The Curado BFS's light-casting performance is provided by the FTB (Finesse Tune Braking) system. It consists of a set of magnets housed in the handle-less side plate that apply force to the inner surface of the reel spool. By turning the brake adjustment dial you move the magnets either toward the inside of the spool (more braking force) or toward the outside, but there are no moving parts on the spool itself, which explains why it can spin so freely with so little force. The addition of the S3D spool design and Super Free Spool technology further enhances performance. The internal precision gears, bearings, and X-SHIP provide smooth and efficient winding power and the overall weight is reduced by the use of an aluminum HAGANE body.
