ACCU-FISH™ function of the FCV1150 identifies fish size individually

ACCU-FISH™ is a fish-size determination feature on the FCV1150 fishfinder and is unique to Furuno for assessing the size of a fish individually. It can also detect fish sizes between 10 and 199 cm, at depths from 2 to 100 m.

Different symbols can be used to display each echo returned by detected fish. This is a valuable aid for beginners and makes fishing even more interesting.

The available symbols are: a circle, a square and two fish icons. The two fish icons are different sizes (large: over 50 cm, small: 10 to 49 cm) to help the angler identify fish individually. The square and circle marks allow fish to be identified without obscuring the echo display.

Gain processing applied to all echoes on the screen:The FCV1150 has a quick gain adjustment function that allows the new setting to be applied to both new echoes and those already on the screen. This function enables much more efficient and faster adjustment.

Wave compensation:
When connected to an SCX21, SC70 or SC130 satellite compass, the FCV1150 corrects the effects of waves on the image, delivering a steady picture even in heavy seas.

White Contour function for good bottom discrimination:
On the FCV1150 fishing sounder, the upper portion of the seabed is displayed in white to clearly distinguish the bottom from echoes close to it. While the traditional white-line function replaces the darkest color with white, the white contour function uses bottom discrimination to display the white color.

Faster transmit pulse for more detailed detection:
The FCV1150 sounder has a pulse repetition rate increased by 30% compared with a conventional sounder. The result is a finer, more detailed image under the same conditions. The transmission speed is higher in shallow water and is adjusted according to depth rather than the selected scale.

Adjustable operating frequency:
For the FCV1150, if a Furuno transducer is used, simply program it in the menu and the sounder will adapt its power and frequency. The user can change this frequency at any time to refine detection. This function is especially useful for boats practicing different types of fishing or in busy areas where interference from other vessels' sounders can become troublesome.

Compatibility with TZ Professional software and the bottom hardness module:
The Furuno FCV295 & FCV1150 sounders are compatible with TZ Professional software and the Bottom Hardness module*. Thanks to this feature, it is now possible to record Bottom Hardness (Backscatter) data from these two sounders. After retrieving all the data, you can display Bottom Hardness in color on the chart by selecting the corresponding parameters found in the Chart menu of the ribbon.

*Seabed hardness (Backscatter) is defined as the amount of acoustic energy received by the multibeam transducer after a complex interaction with the seabed. This information is therefore used to determine the type of seabed, as different soil categories scatter acoustic energy differently. For example, a softer seabed such as mud returns a weaker signal (low dB value) than a harder seabed like rock (higher dB value).
