BERMUDES
Tested in sea conditions and endorsed by top sailors such as Olivier de Kersauson or Erwan Tabarly, the Bermudes brand has been designing quality technical clothing since 1984, drawing its legitimacy and inspiration from the world of nautical activities!

FEATURES
Waterproofing :
The higher the fabric's waterproof rating, the better. Your rain gear is chosen according to several criteria: the type of rain and the exposure time will help you define the level of waterproofing of your rain outfit. It is generally considered that a jacket waterproofed to 5000 mm water column should keep you dry under a rain of 100 L/h/m² for over 2 hours. The qualitative nature of precipitation is hard to evaluate; Météo-France considers that on our territory, heavy rain corresponds to a precipitation level of 8 L/h/m², which is therefore far from these records! Breathable
The human body produces about 0.06 litre of water per hour at rest, and the more intense the effort, the greater the amount of water released will be. Breathability is a fabric's ability to evacuate the water vapor created by the body during exertion. A fabric that guarantees good breathability limits the condensation of water vapor inside the garment and keeps the body dry; it should be noted that even at rest and the more intense the effort will be

Sealing
It is not enough for the component your jacket is made of to be waterproof to ensure you stay dry; the needle holes required to assemble your jacket must be sealed to ensure perfect watertightness of the product. Velcros, elastics and cuffs located at the extremities also help limit water ingress. On our sealed pieces you will find an example with the seam tape.

Water repellency
The water-repellent properties of a material should not be confused with its waterproofing: a fabric's water repellency corresponds to its ability to let water bead on its surface without absorbing it. Water repellency is not an intrinsic quality of the fabric but results from a hydrophobic treatment applied to the exterior face of the fabric; normal wear, as well as detergents and other impurities, require a reactivation of the water-repellent treatment or a renewal of the treatment.

Windproof
The feeling of cold increases considerably with wind. The coating and membrane applied to the back of your jacket fabric form a barrier against the wind and therefore help limit heat loss.

Semi-waterproof
In bad weather, the upper part of your jacket is particularly exposed. That is why, for increased comfort and technical performance, the main seams of your garment are sealed.
