The Sahara is the mid-range rear-drag reel with an elegant look and great smoothness that underscores Shimano quality. Available optionally with a single or double handle and equipped with Shimano's exclusive Fightin' Drag technology, the Sahara is a versatile and eye-catching tool.
A single look at the Sahara tells you it's a quality reel and a quick turn of the handle will confirm your first impressions. The smoothness and power of the Sahara reel are visually superb and, with single and double handle options, you really are spoiled for choice. Suitable for most leisure and feeder fishing situations, including float, feeder and lure fishing, the Sahara also features the Fightin' Drag function for instant drag adjustment while fishing.
Equipped with 3 shielded stainless steel ball bearings and a roller bearing, the Sahara uses a multi-disc rear drag system for progressive and smooth performance, and a Fightin' Drag brake for precise and adjustable control while fishing. The cold-forged aluminum spool with AR-C line management is suitable for both monofilament and braid, and the Varispeed II system prevents monofilament and braid from getting caught on the top of the spool. Available in single or double handle versions, in a range of small and medium sizes from 1000 to 4000. For match anglers, there is also a high-speed (6,2:1) 3000. The Sahara is a versatile reel that can be used for many types of freshwater fishing.
