The Vanford is Shimano’s most sensitive spinning reel. Perfect for a wide range of lighter fishing styles, the Vanford is part of the Magnumlite series and pushes the boundaries of technology and engineering, delivering remarkable finesse that you can really feel and will certainly appreciate.
The inertia required to set the Vanford rotor in motion is almost imperceptible. It’s difficult to describe the feeling, but pick one up and you’ll immediately understand what we mean. Sensitivity and light weight bring control, and control brings better fishing and greater success. Everyone benefits, and when it comes to lightweight lure fishing combos, very few can compete with the Vanford. Pair it with any high-quality finesse lure rod and you’ll immediately improve the balance, allowing you to fish better, for longer, and enjoy yourself more than you thought possible.
The Vanford’s sensitivity is the result of the MGL rotor, which, along with the body, is made from Shimano’s exclusive Ci4+ composite material. This is also why the reel feels so light in the hand. Internally, HAGANE Gear, MicroModule II, X-SHIP and Silent Drive work together seamlessly to provide smoothness and plenty of power. The addition of the Long Stroke Spool improves casting performance, particularly when using the smaller sizes with ultra-light lures. If you prefer fishing with large soft plastics or crankbaits, take a look at the larger Vanford sizes, which are available with different gear options, including High Gear (HG) and Extra High Gear (XG). With 14 different options, the reasonably priced Vanford is a legend in the making.

• Shimano’s most sensitive spinning reel in the Magnumlite series
• Ultra-light rotor start-up and perfect line lay thanks to the MGL rotor
• HAGANE Gear, X-SHIP, MicroModule and Silent Drive work seamlessly together to deliver smooth, powerful and lightweight rotation
• X-Protect technology provides a high level of water protection
• The AR-C Long Stroke spool increases casting distance
