PENN Surfblaster IV - Designed to reach the horizonThe PENN Surfblaster reel is designed for surfcasting enthusiasts looking for smooth operation and reliable control from the shore. Whether you’re casting long distances from sandy beaches or fishing close to rocky shores, this reel offers the reliability you need to target species such as bass, flatfish and mullet. Its balanced design and even line lay make it ideal for surfcasting techniques that demand precision and endurance. Built to withstand marine conditions, the Surfblaster is a reliable choice for anglers who want to focus on their technique and make the most of the rhythm of fishing from the shore.

The PENN Surfblaster IV is a true long-distance casting specialist for anglers who arrive early, leave late and expect faultless reliability from their tackle. The rigid XRC carbon body keeps the gears perfectly aligned under heavy load, the premium main gear maintains a smooth retrieve when conditions get tough, and the sealed drag lets you apply plenty of pressure with confidence. Our Slow Leveline system creates tight, even coils — up to 50 coils per oscillation — so the line comes off the spool cleanly and reaches greater distances with less effort. Choose your model: the 8000 offers greater line capacity and is designed for extreme casting and tough conditions; the slightly more compact 7000 reduces weight and capacity for situations where maximum distance isn’t essential but reliability still matters. The targeted 3+1 stainless steel ball-bearing system stands up effectively to salt and sand. Simple. Robust. Ready to tackle the toughest conditions — available in black/grey or silver.Pro Insight“I used the Surfblaster IV over a full tide cycle — crosswind, powerful casts and plenty of wind-blown sand.

What struck me most was how cleanly the line comes off the spool. This Slow Leveline lay (tight, even coils) lets me put in less effort while still reaching the distance I need. The drag starts smoothly with fine monofilament and stays consistent when a bass is fighting in the waves. The body doesn’t twist when you put your back into a long cast or retrieve through weed; the rotor stays perfectly aligned, so you can keep the same rhythm from the first cast to the last. I use the 8000 size when I need maximum distance with heavier leads; the 7000 is my choice for mixed ground where repeated casting matters more than capacity. Simple, robust and effective — exactly what a surfcasting reel should be.”Product Manager Insight“Our aim with the Surfblaster IV was simple: maximum distance without complication. We stiffened the platform with an XRC carbon body and rotor to keep the gears perfectly aligned under load, then paired a premium metal main gear with a sealed drag to maintain a smooth retrieve when conditions get tough. The Slow Leveline system was developed to create up to around 50 coils per oscillation — tight, even coils that release cleanly for longer casts with less effort.

We reduced the number of parts, selected a targeted 3+1 stainless steel bearing system to withstand salt and impurities, and offered two capacities: 7000 for standard surfcasting distances and a faster retrieve, 8000 for extreme distances and greater line capacity. Two finishes are available, with corrosion-resistant components. The result is a long-distance reel designed to stay perfectly aligned, maintain a smooth retrieve and keep anglers in control in real surfcasting conditions.”
