The spinning rods for predator fishing come in different formats: multi-section, offset (detachable handle), and one-piece. As its name implies, one-piece is a rod that has no joint, its length is exactly its size. These rods are mainly used in the United States by boat fishermen, indeed the size is not an issue when you leave your rod in the trunk of your boat and you don't have to carry it. Having a one-piece spinning rod avoids having a weak point at the joint, and also avoids having a part of the rod where the rod's action is somewhat stiffened. But it has to be admitted that this was more noticeable before, now the differences between one-piece and 2-piece are less detectable most of the time. If you are meticulous don't hesitate to buy a one-piece rod, but plan for a large boat trunk, or in your car. Most known brands in predator spinning rods also make one-piece rods: Major Craft, Sainte Croix, Daiwa, Shimano, Volkien, Berkley, Savage Gear etc.
