When carp fishery specialist Andy Bennett joined the Mainline Match team at the beginning of the year, he wanted to create his own groundbait mix dedicated to pole and feeder fishing in carp fisheries: that’s how Bagga Mix was born! This groundbait is made from a blend of different pellets with varying levels of fishmeal and oils, giving it a strong pellets and fishmeal scent. On closer inspection you can also make out the different shades and particles coming from these pellets.

The grinding process is also essential and gives the groundbait a slightly granular but uniform texture, which makes it very easy to prepare and use. All the particles absorb water perfectly, allowing the groundbait to become well aerated while retaining a fast sink — a key point for Andy Bennett — so it can be used in different forms while keeping the fish active on the bottom.

It can be formed into hard or softer balls, but proves particularly effective when used in « sandcastle » form or placed loose in the cup with a rod. It is just as effective moulded around a method feeder or a hybrid feeder, breaking down quickly and evenly. The Dark Bagga Mix has a neutral black colour, very attractive regardless of water clarity, and presents itself as a versatile groundbait very popular in carp fisheries, suitable for all species, notably carp, F1 and bream.
