The Kickers may only be a piece of folded rubber, but often the simplest things in fishing have the greatest impact, and these will help improve the hooking potential of a multitude of different rigs.

The curved-hook rig was incredibly effective, but it also caused a lot of damage, and so for years anglers used pieces of shrink tube to reproduce its effect. The Kickers remove all the problems, because they give the same effect, but by simply sliding them onto the eye of your hook, rather than having to bother with steam.

They are also perfect for use with spinner rigs. Some anglers want to camouflage their rig as much as possible, and the green or brown version is perfect for that, but on some waters, a piece of brightly coloured tubing on the hook can actually make it more attractive. There are also mixed red/white and yellow/pink versions, if you want to add a touch of colour to your hook. Also, for anglers who use natural baits such as maggots and casters or who regularly fish in the silt where bloodworms are common, the latest addition to the Kicker range is the Bloodworm Red version.

All the Kickers, whatever their colour, are made from robust rubber, with three different sizes to fit the hook you use - small for sizes 10 and 12 ; medium for sizes 6 and 8 ; large for sizes 2 and 4 - so they stay well in place on the hook eye. When you hook a fish, the Kicker pulls straight during the fight but returns to its original shape and is ready to be reused. You get ten Kickers in each pack.
