The NEW Kombat Boots were designed by Danny Fairbrass to recreate the high-end walking shoes he used to wear for fishing, but with the inclusion of a few extra features to make them perfect for anglers, and without such a high price.
They were designed with comfort and functionality in mind, while still maintaining a certain style. They feature excellent waterproofing qualities, which is essential when you walk through wet grass or put your foot in shallow water or puddles, because wet feet quickly become a misery and can ruin your session. The soles have been designed taking into account factors such as grip and durability; they provide superb traction on the types of surfaces you're likely to encounter when you're fishing and will prevent an unfortunate slip. Kombat boots are also perfect for walking long distances. They offer support without being rigid and you won't even feel like you're wearing them! Many walking boots can be difficult to put on and take off quickly, but these have been designed specifically for anglers and open wide so they can be slipped on quickly when you get a bite in the middle of the night. Another problem with some walking boots is that the laces keep coming undone, which means not only do you have to stop to retie them, but they also drag in the mud and can trip you up; however, the Kombat boots have a flat-lace design to ensure this doesn't happen and that they stay securely tied.
Danny Fairbrass explains: "They are inspired by a high-end walking boot that I bought in Italy a few years ago for a lot more than these. They have a leather section and a waterproof membrane inside, which allows you to stand in water if you wish. People always ask if they keep you warm - no, they are not warm, because they're not meant to be, as they are intended to be waterproof and to have good grip, but by wearing them with a combination of our waterproof and merino socks, you'll keep your feet warm inside."
Colors: Olive Green or brown
Note: When purchasing, be sure to take into account the socks you will wear with them, as you may need a larger size if you wear thick socks.
