It's a lure that should be used vertically from a boat, making contact with the bottom and raising it up the water column in stages, or otherwise by waggling it smoothly above obstacles.

• The advantage of the kick bottom is that it fishes equally well on the bottom when targeting rockfish or on wrecks (sites and other bass) as it does in the water column when targeting pelagics or predatory fish.
