The Takumi PE is a four-strand braid, highly resistant to abrasion. Baitcasting enthusiasts will love it: with eight-strand braids, especially thin ones, tangles are almost inevitable. The Takumi PE solves this problem.
INFO: At Momoi, we no longer show the diameter of the braids, we only provide the PE value. Here's why:
The diameter of a braid cannot be measured accurately due to its irregular cross-section.
Most competitors advertise unrealistic numbers: in reality, their braids are thicker or less robust than indicated. Many fishermen fall for these values. We prefer to stay honest and not encourage distorted comparisons.
Japanese PE classifies braids based on their actual weight, not their strength. Specifically, two braids of the same weight for an identical length belong to the same PE class. Japanese manufacturers rely on reference tables to establish this classification. In practice, the PE value gives a much more reliable indication of the thinness of a braid, even without direct measurement of the diameter.
