The Rapala Original Floater® was created in 1936 to imitate the profile and swimming action of a wounded baitfish, an ideal prey for predators. This model works through all layers of water with such efficiency that it is still the number one lure: whether animated by twitching like a surface lure or retrieved as a shallow, its action is always as irresistible, everywhere across the world.

"The Original Floater is the ideal lure for shallow areas scattered with weed and/or obstacles that require a rapid change in the lure's depth to avoid snagging. By playing with the angle of your rod and the different seams of current, you will lead it wherever you wish. For the retrieve, work the reel! A simple retrieval is enough to bring the lure to life, but I recommend some variations in retrieval speed to break the monotony and trigger the strike."
