Rapala has become the reference among anglers thanks to its inimitable 'wounded minnow' action. Balsa has provided these lures with the necessary responsiveness and an even more realistic swimming action. The know-how of our engineers ensures that all Rapala swim like the first one designed and validated. Before leaving the factory, each lure is inspected, hand-adjusted and tested in a pool. That's why they are reliable and catch fish!

Thanks to the Countdown®, you catch fish at any depth. You just need to apply the 'countdown' technique. Whether fish swim at different depths, from surface weedbeds to the bottom, the Countdown® probes all layers of water with great efficiency. Its swimming action is defined by a slow 'rolling'.

Method « Countdown / Count Down » : Immediately after casting, keep your line taut and then count during the lure's descent, for example « one thousand one... one thousand two... one thousand three... ». Continue counting until the lure touches the bottom or is stopped by weedbeds. Your line will then be slack. Remember the last number you pronounced at that moment. Then, on subsequent casts, remove one or two numbers and retrieve the lure with your reel. The Countdown will then pass just above the weedbeds or the bottom. If you fish in current, cast slightly upstream and let the lure sink while counting, line slack, then begin retrieving it once the desired depth is reached.
