L’Ace est un fluorocarbone dont l’indice de réfraction est très proche de celui de l’eau : 1.4 alors que celui de l’eau est de 1.33. Cette propriété lui confère ainsi une très grande discrétion. Ce fluorocarbone offre la caractéristique d’être totalement étanche et de conserver la même résistance linéaire et aux noeuds même après une immersion prolongée dans l’eau.
