We developed this hook, available exclusively from us, in collaboration with VMC, according to Johannes Dietel's specifications. Since perch fishing is the Finesse Screw Hook's main area of use, we paid particular attention to its sharpness during the development phase. We deliberately chose a slightly thinner wire to achieve maximum sharpness. However, the hook is not too thin. The Finesse Screw Hook must indeed be able to handle accidental catches of large zander or even pike. It often proved this during the testing phase. The barb is quite small. Combined with the “slippery” PTFE coating, this also helps the hook penetrate perfectly into the fish's mouth. A smaller barb is also more respectful of perch. But don't worry: the barb is large enough for the point to remain firmly anchored in the fish's mouth, even when it shakes its head violently. In addition to using it on the Rushka and Cheburashka, you can also use this texan hook for dropshot, on Carolina, Texas, Free and Kickback rigs, for soft jerking (preferably in combination with Tungsten Nail weights), or for many other applications in perch fishing. The Finesse Screw Hook is fitted with a removable spiral serving as a baitholder. Your lure is thus kept intact and remains firmly secured in the ideal position on the hook. Thanks to the clip located on the front eye, you can nevertheless remove the spiral from the hook very easily. Depending on your needs, you can therefore fish with or without the spiral. The “resin nub” located at the bend of the texan hook also serves, when rigged directly, as a kind of baitholder for the soft lure head. You can purchase split spirals from us if you happen to lose any. The spiral is secured by two “resin nubs” between the eye and the hook shank. The front protrusion simultaneously closes the sharp-edged slit at the lower end of the eye. If, with certain methods, you tie the Finesse Screw Hook directly to your leader, you therefore run no risk of the fluorocarbon or even fine wire being damaged or becoming caught at this point. We sized the eye so that the hook fits perfectly with our Rushka system and can also be used with a classic Cheburashka. It is nevertheless sufficiently thin for the Finesse Screw Hook to also be suitable for rigs where the hook is attached directly to the leader.
