Thanks to its special coating, it allows for excellent casting distances. At the same time, its abrasion resistance is remarkable for a given diameter. The coating is particularly durable. At Momoi, we no longer communicate a diameter for our braids, but only the PE value. Here's why:

• The diameter of a braid cannot be accurately measured due to its irregular section.

• The majority of competitors indicate unrealistic values. In reality, most of their braids are thicker or less strong than announced. Many fishermen are fooled by these figures. We'd rather not play this game and stay honest.
• Japanese PE classifies braids according to their actual weight, not their strength. Basically, two braids of the same weight for the same length belong to the same PE class. Japanese manufacturers use reference charts to determine these classes. In practice, the PE value gives a much more reliable indication of a braid's fineness, even without direct diameter measurement.
