The Kamakura sharpening process lets you use a point as sharp as that of a hand‑sharpened hook, effortlessly and without wasting time. Although the Kamakura Choddy hook was specially designed to be used with stiff leaders and rigs such as the Chod rig or the Hinged Stiff rig, it is also suitable for floating presentations. Its outward‑turned eye produces a fully curved leader when paired with a stiff rig, and it has a slightly thicker profile than the iconic Wide Gape, from which it takes its shape.

This incredibly strong hook with a slightly in‑turned point is equipped with a barb sized to ensure a secure hold without impeding penetration. The points are protected by a wax cap that should be carefully removed before use, and they are supplied in boxes of ten with a slot for each hook. Available in sizes 5, 6 or 8, with or without a barb.
