The original Korda Longshank X was based on original and popular fly hook patterns, which were appreciated by carp anglers for their shape and hooking ability - we made them much tougher and much sharper.

Twenty years later, DF has further improved this ultimate carp fishing hook. Strongly influenced by his underwater experiences, Dan decided to make two major changes to one of his favourite patterns to turn it into an even deadlier option in his arsenal.

The first modification was to give the hook a beaked point. During testing, the beaked point provided better hook retention, significantly increasing the hooked fish / fish landed ratio. The other change was to turn the eye even further inwards. The original pattern has a turned eye of 20 degrees; the new beaked version increases this to 40 degrees. This allows the hook to roll over very quickly in the carp's mouth, ensuring a secure hook hold.

As with the original pattern, the Longshank Beaked is forged, with a heavier wire gauge for greater strength, while maintaining its durability thanks to a PTFE coating. Available in sizes 2, 4, 6 and 8, with or without a barb, with ten hooks per pack.
