you want to combine value, quality and performance, you will be immediately attracted to the speedmaster xtd reel. combining the same g free body silhouette as most of shimano's long cast reels, with a discreet appearance, the speedmaster is visually stunning. and in use, it does not disappoint either. not only will the speedmaster allow you to cast farther, but the new gearing and its new technology will give you the strength necessary to easily fight the largest specimens.an excellent choice for anglers of all levels.
it is really hard to find faults with the speedmaster reels. they have inherited many cutting-edge features used by shimano's leading long-distance reels. for example, the super slow 5 line oscillation is used on all long cast reels up to the power aero reels, as are the g free body, parallel body, rigid cast technologies and the ar-c cold-forged aluminium spools. you even have a set of spool reducers to avoid wasting line, especially when using thinner monofilaments. as for retrieval and fishing, the combination of the hagane gearing and silent drive technology optimizes winding efficiency, while instant drag allows ultra-fast drag adjustment with ease. but the most impressive feature may be that, while retaining the credibility of more expensive models, the speedmaster xtd offers an outstanding value for money.
