The Aldebaran BFS is Shimano's most advanced ultra-slim baitcasting reel. Designed for fishing with the lightest lures, this reel is highly engineered and can operate with lures as light as 1g, making it a serious alternative to the smallest spinning reels.
If you are a light-lure specialist who likes to fish with finesse-style lures, or for smaller species such as trout and perch, you'll love the Aldebaran BFS. Even anglers who until now have only used spinning reels for their ultra-fine fishing will instantly appreciate the advantages of this model. A simple tap on the rod tip lets the lightest lures fly off with almost no friction. And if conditions change, or if you choose a lure of a different weight, a quick adjustment of the brake dial lets you always have the perfect drag setting.
The Aldebaran BFS's remarkable light casting performance is ensured by the FTB (Finesse Tune Braking) system. It is a combination of magnets and centrifugal braking that works in harmony with the ultra-light MGL III spool to control backlash. The addition of the S3D spool design and SilentTune technology further improves performance. Controlled by an external dial, when set to the lowest the brake friction is almost imperceptible. But the Aldebaran BFS is not limited to its remarkable casting performance. Internally, Micromodule Gear and X-SHIP provide a smooth, powerful and efficient retrieve. Overall weight is reduced thanks to the use of a HAGANE body made from magnesium and CI4+ materials.
Light-lure specialists who prefer a fast retrieve will appreciate the model options 7.8:1 (HGL) or 8.9:1 (XGL), both of which are equipped with Shimano's Exciting Drag Sound to enhance the fighting experience.
