The Wide Basal VT81L is a new version of the renowned Basal series with a widened spool for optimized capacity.

This baitcasting reel features a jigging crank perfect for all vertical sea fishing. The very ergonomic high-density EVA round fighting handle prevents cramping and allows more power to be applied during a fight.

The Wide Basal has an enormous gear ratio of 8.1:1 allowing it to retrieve 99 cm per turn of the handle.

Combined with its record capacity for a reel so compact and lightweight (330 g), it is therefore ideal for vertical sea fishing – including at significant depths or in strong currents.

Perfect for use with slow jigs, jigs, madais, kaburas, heavy tenyas, large soft lures, inchikus, etc. to target porgies, sea bass, pollack, dentex, amberjacks, wreckfish, etc.
