The CHUBBY BUG 35 is a hybrid lure, a small 'Super Shallow Crankbait' whose design and construction were inspired by insects that can wander on the water's surface. Equipped with unique features, the CHUBBY BUG 35 combines an insect-like appearance with a very realistic finish and has small lateral appendages, silicone flaps arranged on two levels. Upper level: during a steady retrieve, the silicone flaps create a natural wake on the surface. When the lure is stationary, the flaps float on the surface and produce spontaneous movements comparable to the wing beats of a flying insect trapped by the element, which entice fish to bite. They also provide moderate resistance, thereby enhancing feel and control during retrieval. Lower level: the silicone flaps perfectly mimic the legs or wings of a small insect struggling underwater. Even when stationary, the silicone flaps react to the slightest water movement, producing subtle and realistic motions to tempt any chub, wary black-bass or to deceive the suspicion of trout or perch. A mass transfer system has been designed to improve casting distances and the overall swimming performance of the lure while maintaining a very realistic profile. To perfect this realism, we have developed a range of natural colors with patterns inspired by beetle and hymenopteran species.
