Catfish react particularly strongly to high-frequency artificial lures. In addition, they spend most of the day on the bottom. When lure fishing, this automatically means that you need to use lures that meet these requirements. Say hello to the Cat Crank :-) Compared with more tapered models, small cranks emit significantly more frequent vibrations in the water. This gives small cranks an advantage when targeting catfish. The Cat Crank is the first small crankbait that is truly stable enough for targeted catfish fishing. It also has other important features for catfish fishing that no other lure on the market possesses. Until recently, we had to adapt other cranks intended for perch, zander or pike fishing for lure fishing for catfish. We had to replace the treble hooks and split rings. To achieve sufficient stability, we also connected the split rings to one another with leader material. The result was rather cumbersome cranks which, because of the split rings and heavier treble hooks, no longer had any buoyancy. Nevertheless, these modified lures were the best we could use. Fortunately, that period is now over. The Cat Crank has a body that, when viewed from above, is narrower than traditional cranks. Combined with its wide lip, it swims in a tight and stable manner in the current. It also quickly reaches its maximum depth. We recommend our Evo Cat Spin with a casting weight of 100 g (length depending on the application), a 0.7 mm Silent Leader as the leader, a 0.33 Hulk line as the main line and a Twistlock Agrafe snap. As an alternative to the Silent Leader, you can also use a thin Bas de ligne Mono Leader Pro (0.78 mm or 0.91 mm). For lure presentation, the following rule applies: a monotonous retrieve is the most effective. The Cat Crank can then occasionally reach the bottom. But it also fishes in mid-water when catfish are active. Whether in a river or a lake, we wish you great success with the Cat Crank and plenty of big catches with this mini wobbler!
