Strength and glide:
The two main factors damaging your fluorocarbon leader are the fish's teeth and the abrasion of obstacles encountered by your leader. Once this latter is damaged, whatever its type, it will break sooner or later. It's therefore better to fend off the damage caused by abrasion. The surface of the new V-Hard is modified with a very slippery and more resistant Plasma Rise polymer layer.

Both rigid and flexible:
The more rigid it is, the less the fluorocarbon risks getting damaged. However, if the hardness is increased, the line's flexibility is lost. If it loses its suppleness, the fish won't bite. Plus, it becomes difficult to make a tight knot, and loses its value as a fishing line. The New V Hard succeeded to modify only the very surface of the line to make it harder, while maintaining optimal flexibility.
