in the fluid environment where we ply our trade, demands are constantly evolving. few days are truly perfect, even though one can say that any day spent by the water is sufficiently so. when we fish, the demands we place on a little more than a few grams of carbon fibre are considerable. we expect a light touch and a feeling of proximity, a backbone sufficient to perform a long, fast and accurate loop, but with the durability necessary to fight and land the fish of the day, of the season or even of a lifetime.

the new hardy marksman was conceived, developed and tested with this incredibly varied challenge in mind. a robust but considerably lighter blank has been paired with an all-new reel seat that further accentuates the weight reduction and promotes a feeling of weightlessness in hand. fitted with titanium guides and dressed in a subtle non-reflective golden olive, its understated appearance hides a capability that must be experienced. designed and developed in alnwick in england during hardy’s 150th year, our new flagship rod "the marksman" truly hits the mark to be considered "perfect".
