The Klor hook model was designed and created by Danny Fairbrass to be an aggressive, strong hook with a fast rotation and usable with a wide variety of rigs. It is produced by one of the best Japanese hook manufacturers and is incredibly strong. It has proven able to withstand catching large fish in extreme conditions, both in the UK and in Europe.

The Klor has a very aggressive shape (even more so than the Kurv Shank), with the point aligned with the eye, which encourages rotation when the carp takes it. The reversed shank and the eye turned inwards also mean the hook can be used without needing to add a shrink tube or a kicker.

It can be used with braid, coated braid (provided the first few centimetres behind the hook eye are stripped) or in a combi-rig.

The curved point is long, ultra-sharp and slightly turned inward, which ensures good hook-hold after penetration. It is also much less likely to be damaged by nuisance species such as crayfish and small fish that move it along the bottom, especially when fishing over gravel or hard bottoms.

The shank is made of heavy iron, which produces a very strong hook that can be used in extreme conditions, even when using braid, without fear of it opening. In tests, Danny landed carp of over 60 lb in wild, snag-filled French waters. Despite the heavy iron shank, the point remains very sharp and the barb, once the hook is set, ensures it stays in place.
