Choosing the size Do not choose undersized fenders thinking you won’t have space to store them. It is better to use fewer, but to keep a sufficient diameter. It is recommended to plan one fender every 2,5 m and at least 6 fenders. A 7th, larger fender will also prove very useful if a boat with a higher freeboard comes alongside. For optimal effectiveness, choose a fender with a length equal to 2/3 of your boat’s freeboard height.
Pressure To optimize the effectiveness of the fender or the Bumper, it is recommended to check the pressure 1 to 2 times a year. The ideal pressure is obtained either by a check with a pressure gauge or by measuring the product’s circumference. To be effective, these products must be neither under-inflated nor over-inflated.
Recommended pressure - Standard fender: 0,15 to 0,20 bar - Spherical fender: 0,15 to 0,20 bar - Bumper: 0,07 to 0,10 bar
