The Brass Worm Rattle is a rattling insert in nickel-plated brass containing small steel beads. Its pointed profile allows easier insertion into the soft lure. By colliding against the brass wall, these beads emit a very high-pitched metallic sound. These high-frequency vibrations produced during the retrieve attract predators from long distances to the lure. They are particularly suited to wary fish in very calm conditions.

The specific tone of this insert is different from that produced by glass inserts and can make the difference with suspicious or pressure-educated fish. Its metal construction is also much more resistant to shocks than glass rattles. It is therefore recommended for gratter-style fishing in very rock-cluttered areas with a shad rigged Texas-style.
