The Nexave is available in sizes 6000 and 8000, making it ideal for specimen or heavy-duty fishing, where larger reel sizes make angling easier, particularly for long-distance casting or when targeting large, powerful, hard-fighting fish.
Combining low cost with Shimano's reputation for quality, the Nexave is an excellent reel for beginners or for occasional use when specimen fishing. Fitted with a superb front multidisc drag for confident fishing, especially when targeting powerful, combative fish, the Nexave also features a lightweight aluminium spool paired with AR-C line management normally found on much more expensive models. To maximise your casting performance, with monofilament or braid, Shimano's exclusive Varispeed line lay produces a very smooth lay that reduces friction as the line leaves the spool. In use, the superb smoothness and power produced by the high-quality bearings and the 4.9:1 gear ratio are immediately noticeable, instilling confidence and increasing enjoyment wherever you fish.
