New fixed-spool reel from Van Staal, called the Van Staal VR. This model is equipped with a waterproof machined 606 -T6 aluminum housing. Sealed drag system, drive wheel and conical spiral pinion. MicroClick™ drag for even finer adjustment. Main shaft in stainless steel with a titanium nitride coating.

The spiral gears
The large spiral-machined stainless steel gears perform their task in all Van Staal reels. They are milled individually, resulting in an extremely robust gear mesh between the shaft and the pinion. No other transmission works better under load.

Van Staal anti-reverse system
for braided line This oversized anti-reverse system allows powerful hooksets and permits the use of large-diameter braided line.
