The CERTATE 26 HD is designed for demanding anglers seeking a high-performance reel with enhanced durability, capable of withstanding sustained fishing activity in the most extreme environments.

Since 2004, the year the first Certate appeared, this reel has undergone various evolutions across generations. Marking its era each time, this reference model has become emblematic of Daiwa's excellence in design and engineering. The abbreviation "HD" for "Heavy Duty" first appeared in 2005 on a model designed for heavy sea fishing. For this 2026 version the Certate HD adopts a full aluminium structure (monocoque body and rotor), a drive gear in Duraluminium and a carbon disc drag.

This 26 HD model offers even lower rotational inertia and better balance without compromising its robustness or smoothness of operation.

Available from size 3 000 to size 5 000, it is ideal for lure fishing for sea bass, for small pelagics (bonito, little tunny) and other amberjacks or large barracudas (Mediterranean barracuda).

Technology
HD for " HEAVY DUTY"
Introduced in 2026, the HD concept is an aluminium body offering excellent rigidity and sufficient power for fishing situations that require strength and durability. The "Heavy Duty" model should therefore be favoured when fishing situations demand sturdy gear (soft-lure fishing in deep water, fishing in cluttered areas, vertical sea fishing…).

MQ
The MONOCOQUE aluminium body symbolizes a level of strength that no other reel can provide. An identity that has earned CERTATE the trust of a wide range of anglers over the years. The MONOCOQUE body is covered by a side plate, which itself acts as a large screw on a solid frame and prevents deformation under heavy loads. Eliminating threaded parts also creates a much larger space inside the body than in a traditional structure, thus allowing a more powerful, larger-diameter drive gear to be housed.

AIRDRIVE DESIGN
Introduced in 2022, the "AIRDRIVE DESIGN" technology has become a new development standard for Daiwa's high-end spinning reels. The CERTATE 26 HD implements this cutting-edge technology on the front section of the reel (aluminium rotor, spool, shaft and bail arm), offering anglers superior operability with maximum power and rigidity.

ATD TOUGH
The "ATD Tough" drag uses carbon washers for increased durability and excellent progressiveness. This system smoothly adapts to the fish's pull and ensures consistent braking performance. Thanks to its progressive engagement you can fully concentrate on the fight without worrying about adjusting the drag.
