The Alivio Surf is Shimano's entry-level surfcasting rod. It offers excellent value for the occasional surf angler. The practical 3-piece design and XT30 carbon construction deliver a fast action and suit a wide range of rigs.

The Alivio Surf is Shimano's most affordable surfcasting rod and is an excellent choice if you are an occasional surfcaster or on a very tight budget. This very powerful range will safely handle weights up to 225g (8oz) and will give you the power needed to cast with confidence, especially when using a single overhead casting action. To help detect bites better, particularly when fishing at night, the tip features a white section for improved visibility with a headlamp.

The XT30 carbon blanks in the Alivio Surf range provide outstanding casting performance at a reasonable cost. In fact, while the action is designed to be fast, it is also quite forgiving, allowing beginner anglers to achieve maximum range with their casting technique. For a rod in this price range, the Alivio Surf is nevertheless fitted with high-quality Shimano Hardlite stainless steel guides, corrosion-resistant and therefore safe to use with monofilament or braided lines. The Shimano DPS reel seat can accommodate surfcasting reels up to size 14000 and has been positioned to give you maximum leverage when casting.
