Designed and developed for extreme surf and, in particular, to meet the requirements of the Maio Fishing Club, this rod with distributed action makes power, robustness and reliability its main strengths. Its action is the result of long experimentation to achieve a perfect compromise between several requirements: the need to reduce disadvantageous leverage during a fight, casting performance, handling and compatibility with both spinning and fixed-spool reels.
The MFC consists of three elements: a tip with a soft, progressive tip action for better performance during a prolonged fight; a powerful butt with a long handle and a reel seat mounted in the low position, and a butt extension that increases the length of the butt without sacrificing power. The extension also allows quickly switching from a configuration with the reel seat in the low position to a configuration with the reel seat in the high position and vice versa.
This last feature makes it possible to enjoy the advantages of both configurations with a single rod, notably: reduction of disadvantageous leverage for greater comfort during the fight, compatibility with the fighting harness and big live-bait fishing in the configuration with the reel in the low position; better casting leverage, reduction of the effects of swell on fishing action during waiting periods and better protection of the reel against sand and saltwater in the configuration with the reel in the high position. The tip is slightly shorter than the butt to avoid any damage during transport of the rod. Both the butt and the extension are equipped with a gimbal, the first to firmly secure the rod to the fighting belt, the second to prevent the rod from rotating on the spike. The MFC rod is fitted with Fuji Sic Gun Smoke guides.
