This hook, available exclusively from us, was developed in collaboration with VMC according to the specifications of Johannes Dietel.
Since perch fishing is the main application area of the Finesse Screw Hook, we paid particular attention to its sharpening during the development phase. We deliberately chose a slightly thinner wire to achieve a maximum degree of sharpness. However, the hook is not too thin either, because it must also be able to handle accidental catches of large zander, or even pike. During the testing phase, it repeatedly proved capable of this.
The barb is relatively small. Combined with the PTFE coating, which makes it particularly "slippery", this allows the hook to penetrate easily into the fish's mouth. A smaller barb is also less damaging to perch. But don't worry: its size is sufficient to ensure that the point remains well anchored in the fish's mouth, even when it violently shakes its head.
In addition to being compatible with the Rushka and Cheburashka rigs, this offset hook can be used for dropshot fishing, Carolina rig, Texas rig, Free rig, Kickback rig, for soft jerkbaiting (ideally with Tungsten Nail Sinkers), as well as for many other techniques dedicated to perch fishing.
The Finesse Screw Hook is equipped with a removable spiral that serves as a baitkeeper. Thanks to the central spike, inserting the lure into the spiral is effortless at the front of the soft bait. The bait remains intact and is perfectly fixed in the correct position on the hook. The clip located on the front eyelet, however, allows the spiral to be easily removed from the hook. Depending on your needs, it is therefore possible to fish with or without the spiral. The small "resin ridge" located on the bend of the offset hook also serves as a support to hold the head of the soft bait firmly when it is mounted directly. If you lose spirals, please note that we offer refills for purchase.
The spiral is fixed between two resin ridges, located between the eyelet and the shank of the hook. The front ridge also serves to close the sharp slot located at the lower end of the eyelet. Thus, when you attach the Finesse Screw Hook directly to your leader, you do not risk damaging the fluorocarbon or a fine steel wire, nor having it catch in this area.
The size of the eyelet has been designed to fit perfectly with our Rushka system, while being compatible with a classic Cheburashka head. Despite this, it remains thin enough to suit rigs where the hook is attached directly to the leader.
